Not seeing loved ones for weeks on end has been incredibly difficult for so many people in recent months, not least those who live in care homes and their relatives. We’re pleased to say that we have been able to begin facilitating garden visits at Springfield Care Home, Garforth as part of our three phase visiting plan, allowing loved ones to spend quality time together. All visits are carefully coordinated and supervised by a dedicated team to assure the safety of residents and visitors.
Nicola Towse, Deputy Home Manager, said “We are delighted that we have been able to support garden visits at Springfield Care Home. It has been amazing to see our residents reunite with their loved ones after spending so many months apart. We are thrilled that we have been able to accommodate all requests from our residents’ loved ones and everyone has been so grateful for this opportunity.”
“It has been a difficult few months not being able to see the love of my life, but to see her at Springfield Care Home this week has reassured me that she is safe, well and happy. My son and I were over the moon to have been able to visit and we could not be more grateful to the team at Springfield for organising these visits. Thank you” said the husband of one resident.
With the help and support of the regional and management team at Springfield Healthcare, Springfield Care home have purchased a gazebo for the garden to ensure that these visits can still go ahead regardless of the weather. It is a significant step to getting back to normality and all residents and relatives have expressed their appreciation for the way Springfield Care Home have organised and operated these visits.
